What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program based on constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.  But what exactly does that mean?  It means the WOD’s (workouts of the day) are designed to use movements that are safe (i.e squatting, pulling, pushing, movements) and that we do in our everyday lives.  Each time you come in you will do movements you have not done the day before, week before, even the month before because they are constantly varied.   And the movements are performed at high-intensity which means that is YOUR intensity, not ours.   At DDXF, we are here to motivate, encourage, track your progress, help you with goals and guide you to becoming more FIT. 

Becoming more fit?  CrossFit develops and enhances the following (10) Physical Skills: Cardiovascular/Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Flexibility, Strength, Power, Speed, Agility, Accuracy, Coordination and Balance.   Everyone wants or wishes they were more fit.  Whether that means being able to lift more weight or just being able to carry groceries into the house without running out of air.  Whatever your reason, the Coaches at DDXF are here to help YOU become more FIT! 

Some people feel that they need to be in shape before they try CrossFit.  This is not the case as we have members walking through our doors that have not worked out in years!  Like we always say, When it comes to CrossFit, there is always a day 1, week 1 and a month 1.  But with our help and your determination we will help you set and achieve your goals! 

DDXF opened in April 2009 and the “Double Diamond” name came from skiing our beautiful Rocky Mountains.  The “double diamond” ski slopes are the most difficult and challenging runs that there are but when you get to the bottom of the run you feel a great sense of accomplishment for having achieved your goal.  So just like CrossFit, it may be the most difficult and challenging workout program you have ever undertaken BUT when the WOD is over you will feel an unmatched sense of gratification and that same sense of accomplishment!
