I have a hard time explaining Crossfit to someone who hasn’t experienced it. It is defined as a strength and conditioning program built upon constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity, but that doesn’t really explain why thousands of people have become addicted to it. I think it is such a highly unique program because it combines competition, teamwork, lots of accomplishment, a pinch of good pain, a whole lot of sweat, mix it all together and what do you get? The Crossfit Kool-Aid - and it’s addicting. So why is it so different from a regular “globo-gym”? Crossfit provides you with personal training every workout, Tom and Kelley won’t let you get away with slacking off or doing less than you are capable of, but they are constantly encouraging you to add weight or do another rep… or two… or 20. After a 20 minute workout when I am flat on my back, swimming in a pool of my own sweat, sucking air, fighting back the puke, trying to stop my legs from shaking and my heart from racing, I am SO proud that I finished, I made the impossible possible. It doesn’t matter if you are 16 or 60, 110 lbs. or 310 lbs, athletic or not; that is the beauty of Crossfit - It is accessible to everyone. Come in and give it a try!

I love CrossFit!!  It pushes me to the limit just when I think I don’t have another rep in me, I somehow find another ROUND!
The tools tom and Kelley give you are amazing!  The passion they have and the knowledge they share help you get and achieve your personal goals.  The workouts are TOUGH! Knowing they are shorter does help mentally-I cuss, I sweat and I drop a TON of “F” bombs but have a great appreciation for my body when I’m done!
I recommend CrossFit to everyone I see.  Tom and Kelley have created a challenging yet positive atmosphere and want nothing more than for you to succeed.  It’s because of them I look forward to my next workout.  I’m truly blessed and am so grateful to work with such wonderful and caring people.

Tom and Kelley provide the Milliken Fire Protection District with a fitness program that is truly amazing! After doing 2 workouts a week for a only a month I have seen incredible results. Not only in myself but others as well. The fire service is made up of men and women of all ages, shapes and sizes. Double Diamond Crossfit works for everyone. The ability to get a great strength and endurance workout in a short time prepares us firefighters for real life emergency situations. Tom and Kelley are great instructors as well as good people to have around the station. I am hooked!!! The Fire District will be keeping Double Diamond Crossfit as a permanent supplement to our health and wellness program.

If you want to push yourself mentally and physically to the max, Tom and Kelley will get you there. I would recommend them to any and everyone. It is awesome!

Crossfit has completely changed the way I approach working out.  The workouts are so varied and challenging that I just keep coming back for more.  I have made far more progress than I ever did lifting weights or running or even a combination of the two.  The workouts are relatively short and intense, and your only limit is how badly you want to do one more rep or one more round.  The types of workouts that Crossfit provides are excellent training for the type of work that the fire service demands.  Being able to perform at a high level when you’re near exhaustion is invaluable.

Tom and Kelley create a great environment where everyone is challenged, regardless of their level of fitness.  They provide plenty of instruction so that you have a good technical base to start from, and encourage and push you throughout.  They’re also very willing to throw another ten pounds on your shoulder when they think you’re ready (even you’re not so sure)!

"CrossFit was never the workout routine for me. As an ultra-marathon runner, I shied away from anaerobic training of any sort. However, I gave Double Diamond a try on the suggestion of a Fire Board Member with the thought of bringing it to the membership here at the Milliken Fire Protection District. While it was certainly difficult to return after those first tough workouts, I am glad that I stuck with it and was able to offer our firefighters a new and exciting way to exercise. More than a dozen MFPD firefighters have given CrossFit a try and about half of those attend regularly, all seeing profound results. Tom and Kelley bring the perfect combination of inspiration and motivation to their classes—sometimes pushing and other times pulling. They complement and supplement each other in the best of ways and I heartily recommend Double Diamond CrossFit to anyone looking for a new and exciting workout."

A month ago, I would not have said that crossfit is fun. Every day during the first month, I tried to think of a good excuse for not going. Thankfully, I didn't come up with any good excuses. After doing crossfit for about two months, I determined that it actually is fun. The benefits gained by keeping a firm schedule far outweigh the pain felt during workouts. In fact, I probably would have gone completely insane by now if it had not been for crossfit, as my job can be quite stressful. When I go to crossfit, I don't have energy to continue to think about my bad day, and must simply concentrate on whatever fresh, hellish workout has been planned for the day. Did I say hellish? Yes, it is hellish, and it works better than most other workouts I've done. Even when I've had a bad day or I'm tired, I have to step up, because there is no whining in crossfit (crying, puking, cursing, yes, but no whining).

Tom and Kelley are extremely supportive. They somehow know when I actually have more to give and when I don't, which is amazing, because I sometimes don't know it myself! They do not coddle, but they do not push too hard, either. It is a great balance that will help any person get in better shape.

Any person can do crossfit. I am always the slowest person in the group, and it doesn't matter. I am not competitive, and it doesn't matter. I sometimes work out with people who are fifteen (or more) years younger than me, and it doesn't matter. Any person who wants to be in better shape should do crossfit (there is no try, there is only do or not do).

I've been CrossFitting for about a year now, and have lost 8.5 inches overall and 5% body fat. I feel GREAT! Even beyond the fat loss, I just feel better in general. I am still not bored with the workouts because they are always different. Tom and Kelley make it easy to come back by offering plenty of support and advice. There is plenty of camaraderie with the other crossfitters as well. Even when a workout is especially difficult, we all support each other and get through it. If you can stand up for 30 minutes, you should, at least, TRY DDXF. It doesn't matter if you aren't very fit. Tom and Kelley will adjust everything to fit you. You WILL get stronger.

There are many things that are great about Crossfit and very few that are not. As a college student who works and is a volunteer fireman, it fits in great with my schedule. Because it is such a great workout, the amount of time that I have to devote to exercise has decreased. On the other hand, my fitness and health level have only increased. To this day I have never had an "easy" workout at DoubleDiamond. Tom and Olga are always giving us new things to try and I rarely get bored with a workout. Even if you are not experienced with Crossfit I would urge you to try it. It provides me with satisfaction on many levels, including physically and emotionally. I have also had a very recognizable gain in muscle and definition since the start of my workouts with Olga and Tom.

I do count down the days to our next workout with a little bit of fear. No really.  The part that I enjoy about a CrossFit workout is that it is intense. I know that I am getting a great workout. In just the few weeks that I have been doing CrossFit, I can tell the difference in my strength already. I like that there is no standing around and that we get after it the whole time. I love that the workouts are always something different. It isn't the boring old gym stuff. I am really glad that I made the decision to do the CrossFit workouts with you guys. I can't wait until the next workout so that I won't be able to move my arms for a few days. You guys are the best and we always find a way to laugh a little during the workouts. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get in better shape and do it quickly especially those who are looking for a serious workout.

If you are a current/former athlete and/or want to improve your overall fitness level, please come in to Double Diamond CrossFit 2-3 times per week for 1 month and see what happens. This is what I experienced and I am sure that you will experience as well.

The most important result is that I have been able to stay on track with this as a regular fitness regimen for 8 months without wavering. This consistency has by far been the most important benefit for me. In addition, the program has allowed me to develop a positive mental approach (“I can finish this workout”) that has carried over to my other sports/pursuits. Beyond that, I have dropped 15 lbs. (which was in the first 90 days; I have not put any weight back on since) and my overall fitness has improved: by way of example, my running distance has increased from 5 to 15 miles and times have fallen by 1 min/mile. For me, these results are because the facility, the workouts, the instructors and the other participants create an environment that makes you want to return for the next workout, and in turn ensures success. Finally (and importantly), understand that this is not a loud, aggressive, smelly, sweaty gym: the CrossFit studio is clean, the equipment is good condition and is managed very professionally. My name is Sgt. Arguello, Joseph with the Colorado Army National Guard, my current unit assignment is 5/19th Special Forces Group (AIRBORNE) Support Company. Being in the Colorado Guard you are given instruction to continue to be a Physically Fit Soldier, while you are not on duty in between Drills. I have always been the type to take my exercise program to the next level. I was, for a long time a power lifter, about 9 months ago I noticed that my cardio had taken a dive. I needed to start a new level of physical fitness and that's when I found Double Diamond Crossfit. I had heard about Crossfit from a lot of my Soldiers and its intense workouts. I thought I was in decent shape going into Crossfit, but I was sadly mistaken! Crossfit is the next generation of superior fitness. My experience with DDXF is one to be proud of. Each day I was greeted with smiles and a motivation level of 100%. Tom and Kelley are the best personal trainers I have ever had the privilege of working with. Their professionalism and motivation is outstanding. Their was never a day that I felt I had began to plateau in their program. It was a bittersweet struggle to get into the best shape of my life. I have served in two war Operations in the Middle East, in 2007-2008 and I am currently in Iraq now. (2010-2011) as a Contractor for the Department of Defense. My job also requires me to be physically fit. I have brought the DDXF attitude with me overseas and have continued to do Crossfit 3 times a week, along with my weight program. Double Diamond Crossfit has helped me reach a new level of self awareness and given me the tools to live a healthier life. Where do I begin? When I first started at Double Diamond Crossfit, I was very intimidated and fearful I couldn’t do Crossfit. The workouts can be tough and seem impossible to get through some days (not to mention can be painful the next day…or two!), but with Tom & Kelley’s encouragement, you always get through it! Crossfit not only improves your physical abilities but recharges you mentally as well. The results are amazing; you just have to keep at it! If you are tired of your same old routine or need an extra push, Double Diamond Crossfit is the answer! So, all in all, I LOVE Double Diamond Crossfit!

Tom & Kelley are not only outstanding coaches, but exceptional people. Their excellent instruction and motivation keep you coming back for more! I also love the “family” atmosphere they provide at Double Diamond Crossfit! EVERYONE is welcome and EVERYONE (young and old) can do it!

CrossFit is awesome.  I have been coming to Double Diamond CrossFit for about 5 months and I love it.  You certainly have to find motivation to make it out your door, but once you get to the gym you have all the encouragement and support you could ask for!  Tom, Kellie, Courtney and Zach are all great.  CrossFit is a physical challenge unlike anything I’ve done before (including high school sports), and they know just when they can push you a little harder and farther.  The progress I have made is such a confidence booster.  This high intensity strength and cardio workout is a great addition to my running.  And it doesn’t get boring, EVER!  I haven’t done the same workout twice in all the time I’ve been coming and they’re still teaching me new exercises!  As tired as I am after a workout, I can’t wait to go back and meet my next challenge.  The great thing about CrossFit is than anyone can do it.  They will modify each exercise to meet the fitness level of the individual.  This is definitely NOT an intimidating place to be, you will even find encouragement from the sweaty, exhausted person next to you.  A big thanks to the DDXF coaches, I love my 3x weekly butt kickings!!!
